The SETI League, Inc., nonprofit leaders in the privatized Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence, will be holding its first Technical Symposium the weekend of April 28 - 29, 2001, in Trenton NJ. SETI League members from around the world will present papers on radio astronomy, microwave communications, and the hardware, software, and search strategies being used to seek scientific evidence of other intelligent civilizations in the cosmos. The Symposium is being hosted by the Engineering Department of The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). In attendance will be a respectable sampling of the SETI League's 1200 members from 60 countries, including many of the over 100 SETI League members building and operating their own observing stations.

A Call for Papers was published in the Winter 2001 issue of SearchLites. The deadline for submission of abstracts has now passed. A formal Proceedings will be published by the American Radio Relay League. All registered Symposium attendees will receive one copy of the Proceedings. Additional copies will be available at the Symposium. Accepted authors are reminded that camera-ready copy must be received at SETI League headquarters not later than 1 March 2001. Instructions for preparation of final manuscripts may be found in The SETI League Policy Manual.

Advance registration fees for the Technical Symposium have been set at $30 US for SETI League members, and $80 US for non-members, if received before 15 April 2001. After that date, attendees may register at the door, at $40 US for members, and $90 US for non-members. One copy of the Proceedings is included in the registration fee.
