You must remember this:
It isn't hard to miss
A signal from the sky,
For frequency is hard to guess
As photons fly.
And when we tune the band
You've got to understand
The search for ETI
Is nothing but a game of chance

Microwave dishes cost an awful lot.
Infrared lasers may be all they've got.
Optical SETI works -- or maybe not,
But still we've got to try.

RF'ers get the glory
And optics they won't try.
