Near the village of Nançay
Not very far away
From Paris and its glamor,
There's an observatorie.
It's relatively free
From RF noise and clamor.
There, we'll search for ETI.
You well may ask me why
It's SETI we pursue.
Dish antennas are demanding.
Big Ear's gone, but we're still standing.
Near the village of Nançay
We may discern some day
We're not alone.
In the central part of France
My colleagues took a chance
And built a Kraus antenna.
Near the village of Nançay
They pointed their array
In hope someone should send a
Signal from a distant star
Announcing that there are
Some ET's calling home.
Now they tune the Water Hole
In search of a coherent signal.
When they hear one in Nançay
It's certain we will say
We're not alone.
