Claudio Brasil is a physicist, amateur astronomer, and master of nuclear technology. In astronomy, he is the director for Inner Planets at REA (Observational Astronomy Network) and for 10 years has been studying the Schroter Effect in Venus [the discrepancy between the observed and theoretical phase of the planet]. Claudio has been developing his SETI project since 1995 and has built Brazil's first Project Argus station, which at the moment consists of one 3 meter diameter dish, a 486 DX-2/66 computer, Yaesu FRG-9600 receiver and FFTDSP software from Mike Cook.
